The rich culture in Europe – where Ute grew up – shaped her vision for beauty in her surroundings. Forty years in Canada and the majestic wonders of her new home country caused a deep desire in Ute to express her impressions in art.
When her busy schedule allowed it Ute took courses with well known art instructors in the city and after her children left home she devoted more time to her life long dream.
Ute loves to paint anything life has to offer. Her grandchildren, children of friends, the garden, animals, water, winter, and even interesting buildings are an inspiration to her. She keeps her style realistic and detailed and indulges in colour; nevertheless, she likes to try new ideas and techniques.
Ute’s paintings have been treasured by friends and strangers and can be found in homes across Canada and even in Europe. She is a member of the Société du Centre d’Art visuel de l’Alberta where she exhibits her work twice a year. Ute has also had several shows with friends in Edmonton and works privately on commission.
